Our STORY

We are working to ensure everyone has enough of the right kinds of healthy, fresh foods to eat...

Rooted in Community

In 2019, a Center of Hope chapter of Victory Ministries was launched in Knox County, Ohio, with a mission to meet the basic needs of people in nearby rural communities—addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Over the years, our work has grown to serve seniors, working families, and vulnerable people who live in 22 of Ohio's counties.

Investing in our Home
When we set out to expand fresh food access in rural Ohio, we knew we needed a home big enough for the mission. We found it in the old school building in Bladensburg — a place generations of families remember, and a place with plenty of life left in it.

We put in the work to bring it back. Since 2020, Center of Hope has invested over $400,000 directly into repairs and upgrades of our portion of the old school building, and over $400,000 more into the infrastructure needed to transport, process, refrigerate, and store fresh foods — turning classrooms and hallways into a working community space for our whole region.

Real & Growing Impact, By the Numbers

In just five years, the Knox County chapter became one of the largest food assistance operations in the region. In 2023, we opened the first MidOhio Market in rural Ohio, expanding access to fresh, healthy foods in communities that often lack these resources. In 2025, Hope Charity Inc. was established as the new parent organization of Center of Hope, providing a stronger framework to increase our impact and expand our services.

Since 2020:

  • $1.6 million+ of funding we raised to serve our community

  • $400,000+ we invested in repairs and upgrades to the old school building

  • $400,000+ we invested in fresh-food processing and storage infrastructure

  • 2 million+ pounds of food distributed

  • $4 million+ in fresh, healthy food value delivered to families and seniors

  • Food provided over 27,000 times to households, which is food provided for almost 70,000 individuals

Every dollar entrusted to us multiplies. This is what community investment looks like — not overhead, not promises, but coolers running, teams working, shelves stocked, and food going home with the people who need it.

Supporting Seniors and Families

Recognizing the challenges of an aging population, we place special focus on seniors, ensuring they have access to nutritious foods and programs that promote health and well-being. At the same time, we continue to support working families struggling to make ends meet, offering fresh food, mobile programs, and other essential services.

Community Collaboration & Food Hub

Center of Hope serves not only our direct customers but also works to support other local food pantries and programs, acting as a fresh food hub and distribution center. By storing and distributing fresh, healthy foods, we help partner organizations expand their reach and provide nutritious food to even more people.

Through collaborations, we also connect our customers with valuable community resources, including health services, educational programs, and social support, ensuring that the people we serve have access to the comprehensive help they need to thrive.

Looking Ahead

As part of Hope Charity Inc., Center of Hope is committed to expanding our mission and reaching more people across rural Ohio. We will continue to provide fresh, healthy foods through our free market, food assistance programs, and partnerships with other pantries and programs. Our goal is to make healthy food and vital support more widely available across this part of Ohio.

You can help us make a difference—by donating, volunteering, or spreading the word—so together, we can provide healthier food options, strengthen partnerships, and build stronger, healthier communities.
